The microphone allows the selection of
paging areas for the broadcasting of
general announcements, with the option of
preceding the announcement with one of
three chime signals. LED indication of
zone status, pre-select or selected, is
provided for each selection key.
A busy LED is provided to give an
indication of the microphone or system
status. A local key provides routing of
the announcement signal to a terminal on
the base of the unit. This signal can be
used to drive a power amplifier installed
in the vicinity of the microphone. An LED
is provided to indicate when this function
is in use.
To prevent unnecessary operational delays,
a timer function deactivates the selected
zones if the operator fails to make an
announcement following the selection
process.
The electret gooseneck microphone,
supplied with the console, is fitted with
a collar light which illuminates to
indicate that the microphone is
active.
